We recently completed a new electrical supply for a garden room and hot tub at a property in Tamworth.
Our customer needed a reliable permanent supply for the garden building, including power for lighting, sockets and the hot tub. The installation was planned so that each part of the system had suitable protection and could be isolated independently where required.
Work completed
A dedicated electrical supply was installed from the house and routed externally around the property before continuing along the garden boundary to the garden room.
Inside the garden room, we fitted a new metal consumer unit with separate protected circuits for:
- internal lighting
- general-purpose sockets
- the hot tub supply
The consumer unit also included surge protection and clear circuit identification.
A local rotary isolator was installed for the hot tub, together with a weatherproof connection point. Additional weatherproof sockets were fitted outside the garden room for practical use around the garden.
The garden room was also provided with internal lighting and a conveniently positioned switch.
Neat external cable routing
The external cable route was carefully planned to keep the installation secure, unobtrusive and protected from accidental damage.
The cable was clipped neatly around the outside of the house, taken through a weatherproof transition point and continued along the garden boundary before entering the garden room.
Testing and certification
Once the installation was complete, all circuits were inspected and tested to confirm that the protective devices, earthing arrangements and final connections were operating correctly.
The completed installation was then certified and handed over to the customer.
